Petpet Park was a spinoff MMO game from Neopets. It was centered around Petpets, which, on Neopets, are small creatures that players give to their Neopets to take care of. In Petpet Park, these once minor characters back in Operation: Petpet Park took on an important role and served as avatars that players controlled as they explored the virtual world of Petpet Park. Like its predecessor, Petpet Park offered colourful visuals and gameplay consisting mainly of minigames. Players would earn Park Points by playing minigames to purchase new clothes, accessories, and other items for their Petpet.
Petpet Park was open from October 2008 to September 18th, 2014, when Neopets was bought out by JumpStart.[1]
Petpet Types[]
Default Petpets[]
There was 6 Petpet types to choose from:
- Dipni - Timid, easily startled fish-like Petpets that are affectionate and inquisitive. They tend to make gurgling noises when happy.
- Oukin - A birdlike Petpet that is normally calm but shrieks when in danger.
- Pinixy - A squirrel-like Petpet with a bushy tail and large furry ears. They are full of energy and enjoy physical activity.
- Hifflo - As the name suggests, Hifflos are hippo-like Petpets. These Petpets like to relax and enjoy music.
- Drym - Mischievous Petpets who enjoy digging for shiny objects and borrowing through snow.
- Kassegat - A catlike Petpet with high intelligence that is native to jungle areas. These clever creatures enjoy fruit.
Morphable Petpets[]
Morphing potions (each costing 500-600 NC) allowed players to choose from three new Petpet types (seen below) or the original six when morphing their avatar. Players had to go to Hikili's Hut on Pukapooka Island to morph their avatar.

Jobs[]
Players would take jobs from Petpet Park's resident NPCs, which are basically quests common to your typical MMO game. New jobs were typically released monthly, while some of jobs were available throughout the game's lifetime, and others were either seasonal or tied a limited-time story (similar to a plot from Neopets).[3][4]
Minigames[]
Players would also play minigames for the in-game currency, Park Points. Some minigames were simple variations of other Neopets games (such as Skeedaddle being Meerca Chase II,[5] Cardcasters being Dueling Decks,[6] Bonbon Pickup being Wrath of the Snowager,[7] Dead Pin being Lost City Lanes,[8] Sword of the Cyodrake King being Invasion: Blastoids,[9] etc.), while others (such as Neeterball[10] and Boat Blasters[11]) were remade into Neopets games (Pakiko and Coal War Tactics, respectively).
EXP and Leveling Up[]
Players could also collect experience points (EXP) to level up. Gaining levels rewarded players with different titles. Certain levels would also allow players to unlock special jobs to earn unique rewards and badges. However, players could only collect 800 EXP per day. Parkles were spread around the Park and rewarded players with just 5 XP. They appeared in the same location each day, but when and if they would show up was random. The amount of EXP earned depended on the player's amount of participation, such as scoring a high score in a minigame or have many players on the platforms at the Wishing Well.[12]
Once they leveled up, Mayor Bricemurdle would offer players a one-off job to complete the level-up process. After completing the job, players were assigned a new job from Mayor Bricemurdle once every five levels.[13]
Badges[]
Mayor Bricemurdle also rewarded badges (essentially achievements) to players for completing certain activities.[14]
Membership[]
Much like other popular MMO games at the time, additional clothes and worlds were only accessible via membership (or in the latter's case, access keys from the NC Mall).[15][16] As well, members could receive monthly collectible items, an NC Job item, NC Wish Coin and 1,000 Park Points per week as long as their memberships were still active.[17]
Pricing[]
- One Month: $4.95 billed every month
- Six Months: $24.95 billed every six months
- One Year: $47.95 billed once a year (Best Value!)
