Nickelodeon was the developer of Neopets from 2005 to 2014. As a result, the site was also adopted by Nickelodeon's parent company, Viacom.[1]
Nickelodeon was also the company behind the spin-off games Petpet Park and Monkey Quest.
The End[]
On March 17, 2014, the New Features page announced that Neopets would be leaving Nickelodeon Games after almost nine years, since the website had been bought out by JumpStart.[2] In September, as a result of the transition from Nick to JumpStart servers, Habitarium, Bilge Dice, Invasion of Meridell, Key Quest, and Petpet Park were shut down.[3] As a going-away gift from Nickelodeon Games, two new Plushies modeled after SpongeBob SquarePants and Frankie (the host of JumpStart Games), respectively, were created.
