Neopoints (NP) are the main virtual currency in Neopia. There are many ways to earn NP, as well as many ways to use or spend them.
The primary way to obtain Neopoints is through games and secondarily through activities such as the Neopets Stock Market, item selling, and official contests. Neopoints can also be received (or lost) through a Random Event as well as stored in the National Neopian Bank, from which the user will be able to collect percentage-based interest each day.
Neopoints have also been sold on external third party sites, but will result in the user's account being terminated should they fall for these scams.
In video games[]
In Neopets video games, Neopoints are commonly the main currency used in the game. For instance, in Neopets: Petpet Adventures: The Wand of Wishing Neopoints can be used to buy equipment.

- The maximum number of Neopoints anyone can have on hand is 2,147,483,647.
- If a user has the same exact amount of NP as "asparagus costs" and visits the "About Us" page, they will obtain the Number Six (Adam) avatar.
