Mutant

Mutant is a strange colour available to both Neopets and Petpets.

Mutant pets are monstrous, mutated versions of their species; thus, they seem to gain more edge or abomination factors in their designs. For instance, a Mutant Krawk has four arms and three eyes, a Mutant Vandagyre has two extra pairs of "ears", and a Mutant Hissi has two heads.

How to Obtain[]

Pot aisha trasmog — An Aisha Transmogrification Potion

To get a Mutant Neopet, the player will need a Transmogrification Potion (which can be obtained via a Dr. Sloth random event or from other users), Mutox Syrup (Grundos only), access to the Lab Ray, Species Change Premium perk, or Holiday Dream Neopet Giveaway. Players may also be able to adopt one, trade for one, or apply a Nostalgic Mutant token (either from the Styling Studio or other players) to one of their pets for a different look.

Mutant petpetbrush — Mutant Petpet Paint Brush

For Mutant Petpets, the player will need a Mutant Petpet Paint Brush or access to the Petpet Lab Ray. Players may also be able to get one via the Marketplace, Auction House, or Trading Post.

Customisation[]

Some Mutant pets come with removable clothing as part of their species, but (like Fruit and vegetable Chias, 8-Bit, Baby, and Maraquan pets) with the exception of backgrounds, foreground items, and some Mutant wearables (see some examples below), Mutant pets cannot wear regular clothes.

Some objects can be mutated as well, including the Mutant Door Mat, Wind Up Mutant Jetsam, Mutant Lupe Plushie, Mutant Tchea, Mutant Lamp and Mutant Doughnut.

There are also wearable items exclusive to Mutant Neopets, such as the Mutant Hide Shendyt, Elegant Mutant Cape, Lifeless Mutant Contacts, Mutant Earthen Armor, Mutant Tattered Dress, and Mutant Polka Dot Wig (all of which are NC items).
