Mayor Thumburt is the (possibly former) mayor of Neovia.
History[]
When the Neovian townspeople came under the monstrous effects of Mr. Krawley's potions, Thumburt decided to summon the Spirit of Slumber to help them. However, the Spirit's cure came with a terrible price. When the curse was finally lifted, Thumburt attacked Sophie and Bruno, who were trying to help restore Neovia. He blamed Bruno for being the first to take the potion from Krawley and thus unwittingly starting the chain of events that brought misfortune on the town. In his fury, Thumburt went on to mutate into several monstrous forms, each stronger than the last, until finally being defeated and turned into a Moquot by Sophie.
Though the spell was not shown to be reversed, there is still some evidence to suggest Thumburt may have at some point been changed back to a Bruce and restored as Neovia's mayor. Lanie and Lillie have mentioned that they enjoy appearing in his mirror to scare him, and still refer to him by his mayoral title.
