Myncis (MOON-see) are monkey-like Neopets. Residing in the dense jungles of Mystery Island, their natural agility, sturdy grip and sense of balance make them great climbers. Although they tend to pull pranks on other Neopians, they also steer clear of real trouble. Myncis also adore fresh fruit, especially bananas (and its Neopian variations).

At about 80cm, the Mynci is slightly taller than the average Neopet.[1]

Myncis are not limited edition, meaning they can be created year-round.

Site description: " Roaming the dense jungles of Mystery Island, Myncies enjoy pulling pranks while steering clear of serious trouble. Their sturdy arms and exceptional balance make them excellent climbers as they swing from tree to tree. There's no denying their love for fresh fruit, with bananas topping their list of favourite snacks. "[2]

Previous Versions[]

The Mynci was first introduced as Mellish, a humanoid pet based on one of Adam's friends. When the pet was renamed and redesigned to resemble a monkey, the Mynci inherited its hair tuft and freckles from Mellish. The next time it was redrawn, the Mynci had its Mellish features removed, became shorter, and had its tail curled up in a prehensile shape. The Mynci's final pre-conversion redesign on 26th April 2005 gave the Mynci more dimension and a sneakier appearance.[3]

Trivia[]

  • The name Mynci is a corruption of the Welsh word for monkey: mwnci.
    • Despite this, a recording in Techo Says clearly pronounces it "Min-see". Adam (who is Welsh) likely intended for a Welsh-style pronunciation for "Mynci" that the other Neopets staffers did not follow.
