Neopia has a calendar, based on the Gregorian solar calendar. (The Gregorian calendar is the one used in much of the world; it starts with January and ends with December.)
Each month is the "month of" some activity. For instance, July is the month of Swimming.
- Months: Sleeping, Awakening, Running, Eating, Hunting, Relaxing, Swimming, Hiding, Gathering, Collecting, Storing, Celebrating.

Pet species each have their own special day. On that day, NeoPets usually releases new things related to that species of pet. Sometimes it's new furniture, new looks for that pet (see change your pet), new avatars or other new items.
The calendar also lists other special Neopian days, such as Aug 11th - Discovery of Brightvale. (August is the month of Hiding.)
