Baby is a cute colour for Neopets.
Baby pets are generally smaller and younger versions of their basic counterparts.* They usually have big eyes, cute features, and unique poses that can show them either sitting or crawling.
*Some Baby Neopets based off real-world animals that undergo metamorphosis may, in turn, be based off their real-world counterpart's juvenile form - such as the Baby Buzz resembling an insect larva, and the Baby Nimmo resembling a tadpole.
Customisation[]
Some Baby pets come with clothing such as pajamas, bibs, nappies/diapers, or pacifiers. However, regular clothing cannot be used on a Baby pet - with the exception of background items, foreground items, trinkets, and some Baby-specific NC Mall items.
How to Obtain[]
To get a Baby Neopet, the player will need a Baby Paint Brush (from the Hidden Tower), Morphing Potion, access to the Species Change Premium perk, Holiday Dream Neopet Giveaway, or Rainbow Fountain. Players may also be able to adopt one, trade for one, or apply a Nostalgic Baby token (either from the Styling Studio or other players) to one of their pets for a different look.
There was a random event where Boochi could zap Neopians' active pets into Baby pets, which was devastating for them if they were expensively coloured, but thankfully, unconverted pets remained unaffected. When REs were updated with the introduction of the Coincidence, Boochi always misses. (Although this random event "returned" when the "Random Acts" Charity Corner perk is in effect, the user's active pet does not actually turn Baby, despite what the text says.)

- Unlike other Baby pets, the Baby Pteri is in an egg, essentially having its true appearance being invisible to the rest of the Neopian world (an old image for a hit Baby Pteri reveals that it has blue feathers).
